Bluegrass with Borderline

Sunday, May 19, 2024

03:00 PM - 05:00 PM

Newtown Theatre

120 North State Street, Newtown, PA, USA

The historic Newtown Theatre will present “Bluegrass with Borderline” on Sunday, May 19 at 3 PM.

Borderline is a Bucks County bluegrass trio that is known for its hard-driving instrumentals and tight, three-part harmonies. From driving tunes like Rosanne Cash’s “My Baby Thinks He’s a Train” to Linda Ronstadt’s sweet ballad “It Doesn't Matter Anymore,” Borderline plays from the heart and keeps its audience engaged. The band includes:

• Bob Sutor, who has been playing five-string banjo for nearly 40 years and was a band member at the American Music Theater. Sutor is known for his hot banjo solos and creative playing in overdrive.

• Terry Sutor, whose exceptional voice has the power for that high lonesome sound in traditional bluegrass and the lilting softness for ballads or gospel. Her bass playing is the backbone of the group.

• Bob Harris, a jaw-dropping guitar wizard and an international flat-picking champion who performed with the great Vassar Clements for 15 years.

Online tickets are $27 per person or $22 for theatre members. Any remaining tickets will be sold for $37 at the door on the night of the show (if available).

All seating is general admission.
