The Music of Dire Straits & Mark Knopfler

The historic Newtown Theatre will present “The Music of Dire Straits & Mark Knopfler” featuring 6 Blade Knife on Sunday, May 18.

This is the debut performance of 6 Blade Knife’s Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler tribute, but the band comes with a long pedigree. Founder/lead singer/lead guitarist Marty Cohl is an original member of the Broken Arrow Neil Young tribute band. In 6 Blade Knife, Cohl is joined by music veterans Michael Graziola on bass and vocals (LennonLive, Live at the Fillmore and Still at Large), Steve “Wheels” Wheelock on guitar and vocals (Living Earth, The Hix, Neo Pseudo, Kicking Down Doors), and Roger Learnard on drums and vocals (Roger Learnard Band, Scott Romig Band and Sugar Foot Farm). 

From the time Sultans of Swing hit the airwaves in 1978 until today, Mark Knopfler has brought incredibly engaging, well-written, songs to his fans throughout the world. As a totally unique guitar player and an exceptional singer/songwriter, Knopfler’s music is challenging, comforting and heartbreaking at the same time.
