Hailey Brinnel Presents: The First Ladies of Jazz

The historic Newtown Theatre will present “Hailey Brinnel Presents: The First Ladies of Jazz” on Friday, May 16.

The second in a series of jazz concerts with this popular Philadelphia-based jazz artist, this concert will feature music from the iconic women of jazz, including Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and more.

Brinnel is a jazz vocalist and trombonist who has played the Newtown Theatre several times in recent years to rave reviews and standing ovations. In 2023, she premiered her latest album, Beautiful Tomorrow, on the Newtown Theatre stage.  

Brinnel’s debut album, I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles, peaked at #13 on Amazon’s ‘Jazz New Release’ chart, and #44 on the website’s Jazz Best-Seller chart. Her music is firmly rooted in jazz tradition, arranged such that the energy is preserved but new life is breathed into it.

Online tickets are $32 per person or $27 for theatre members. Any remaining tickets will be sold for $42 at the door on the night of the show (if available). All seating is general admission.
