John Oates

The historic Newtown Theatre will welcome legendary musician John Oates to its stage on Wednesday, April 30.

Oates is cofounder of the iconic music creators Hall & Oates and an accomplished solo artist. He is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The American Songwriters Hall of Fame, recipient of the prestigious BMI Icon Award as well as numerous American Music, MTV awards, and multiple Grammy nominations.

At the Newtown concert, Oates will perform a mix of his solo material, some covers, and a handful of Hall & Oates’ mega hits. Oates will be part of a four-piece band that includes him on acoustic guitar/vocals, percussion/backing vocals, cello, and electric guitar/pedal steel.

Performing million-seller hits from the past and new songs framed with the back stories of how they were written, Oates will take you on an intimate sonic journey that’s been described as “Musically sophisticated, carefully crafted, and thoroughly entertaining.” This is music as it was meant to be enjoyed…authentic, organic, and full of surprises.
