The historic Newtown Theatre will present a “Paddington Party & Movie Screening” on Sunday, May 17 at 3:00 p.m. This event is part of the theatre’s 2026 Family Series, which is generously supported by Duane and Joyce Buck.
Doors will open at 2:00 p.m. and in the hour leading up to the screening of 2014’s “Paddington” guests will enjoy a marmalade sandwiches, a hat decorating station, a Paddington photo booth, Paddington stickers for every child, a Paddington Politeness Pledge before the movie, and more. Only 200 tickets will be sold for this one-time-only event.
Ticket holders are encouraged to bring their child’s teddy bear or favorite stuffed animal (one per child, please) to the theatre on Saturday, May 17 between the hours of 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. The theatre staff will treat the animals to a fun night at the theatre and take photos of them. Children can watch Paddington with them the next day and take them home after the movie.
“Paddington” tells the story of a young bear from Peru who travels to London with a sign around his neck that says “Please look after this bear. Than you.” He taken in by the Brown family, but he soon attracts the attention of a villainous taxidermist who wants his rare hide. Rated G.
